United Inspection Services was formed in August of 1993 as
the result of a private acquisition of the Jim Thorpe Branch operation
from United States Testing Company, Inc. (USTC), an SGS company. USTC
had been providing complete on site quality control inspection and
laboratory testing from their branch office for over six (6) years for
numerous clients in the industrial and commercial sector. Prior to the
Jim Thorpe operation, most of United Inspection Services Management
were involved with United States Testing Company, Inc. at the
Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant, Berwick, Pennsylvania, for over
thirteen (13) years. Company structure consists of a Manager of Operations, Lab Director (PE), Lab Manager, Project Manager, and numerous Concrete, Soils, and Structural Steel Inspectors/Technicians. Most recently, services were expanded to include Surveying, which is managed by a Professional Land Surveyor. United Inspection Services currently employs approximately twenty-five (25) inspectors, most of which are ACI and Nuclear Density Gauge Certified. Other certifications and training include PennDOT Concrete Field Testing Technician, Windsor Probe Testing and Face F-Number Measurement using a Dip Stick Floor Profiler. United Inspection Services laboratory is regularly inspected by CCRL, AMRL, Army Corp of Engineers and PennDOT, and continues to participate in the AMRL Proficiency Sampling Program. |
